The Red Sea Development Company

The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) was established to drive the development of The Red Sea Project, an ultra-luxury tourism destination that will set new standards in sustainable development and position Saudi Arabia on the global tourism map.

Developed over 28,000 km2 of pristine land on Saudi Arabia’s west coast, the site includes a vast archipelago of more than 90 islands, mountain canyons, dormant volcanoes and ancient cultural and heritage sites.

The first phase of the development is planned to open in 2022 and will include hotels, residential properties, leisure, commercial and entertainment amenities, as well as supporting infrastructure that emphasizes renewable energy and water conservation and re-use.

TRSDC has set several aspirational sustainability targets, including a 100 percent reliance on renewable energy, a total ban on single-use plastics and complete carbon neutrality in the destination’s operations, in a bid to protect, preserve and enhance the destination.
